Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is American Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. Her music is classified by DiFranco as alternative rock, folk rock and pop, however she also draws influences of hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco was the very first musician to start her own label in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd 1970. She is the daughter Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who been in contact while at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The mother of her is from Montreal as is her father, who has Italian origins. Ani diFranco wrote and sang the song 32 Flavors. The song is from her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, which was her sixth album for her studio. A version of the track can be heard on the soundtrack for 1999's Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate. In 2013 DiFranco apologized when it was revealed that she would be hosting the three-day event in a former Louisiana slavery plantation. Even though she canceled the event, many people (including our paper) weren't feeling any regret. DiFranco offered a second apology days later. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger style, but she's worked with many artists as well as genres ranging from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer lives in New Orleans.
